Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

(Ácho) Kusuma suváse maner madhumáse
Tomár guńer náhi tulaná
Caiṋcala pavane vane upavane
Bhese cale jáy tava dyotaná

Sabái áse jáy atale taliye jáy
Budbud sama kśańatare manke nácáy
Ásá jáoyá náhi tava akhańd́a anubhava
E anubhútir upamá mele ná

Sabái bhuliyá jáy cená meshe acenáy
Durmada saḿskáre ná jáne kotháy dháy
Tumi shudhu cirasáthii theke jáo diváráti
Path calivár gáne diye prerańá

In mind's springtime, You are with floral fragrance;
To Your attributes there is no resemblance.
On restless wind, in forest and in garden,
Sails away Your significance.

Everybody comes and goes, then sinks into an abyss;
Like a bubble makes mind dance for but a moment.
A brief visit isn't Your perpetual experience;
This seeming perception is not balanced.

Everyone keeps forgetting: known mingles with the strange;
Frenzied by samskara[nb 2] they know not where they race.
You, the sole constant companion, go on staying day and night,
Encouraging with songs for treading the path.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ A distortion of the mind-stuff waiting for expression (i.e. a reaction in potentiality) is known as a samskára. (Sutra 3-4 of Ananda Sutram)[3]
