Bandhu amar is the sixth song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2][3] It is also known as Samvit Samgiita (song of awakening).[4] This song describes the experience of spiritual aspirants immediately after taking initiation into tantric meditation.[2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Bandhu ámár
Bandhu ámár
Sonár áloy d́háká

Bhorera pákhii
Ut́hlo d́ákii
Práńer parág mákhá

Kisera tare
Kisera d́áke
Dine ráte khuṋji táke
Notun áloy jhalkáni dey
Doláy notun pákhá

My longtime ally,
My longtime ally
Is encased in golden light.

The bird of morning
Rose up singing,
Coated with pollen of life.

For whose sake,
For whose fame,
I seek Him night and day?
A new light radiates,
And new wings take to flight.
