Shoke sántvaná dite ele
Ámár balini kabhu
Tabu ámár haye gele

Vihval chinu duhkhe
Balini kichu mukhe
Manera citra dekhe
Mamatá mádhurii d́hele dile

Sukhe cinite párini
Duhkhe cinechi tomáy
Vedanáy bhálabásá dile
Sarále sab tamasáy
Ámár ámire bhare rekhe
Ghire raye gele pratipale

সুখে এলে নাকো
শোকে সান্ত্বনা দিতে এলে
আমার বলিনি কভু
তবু আমার হয়ে গেলে

বিহ্বল ছিনু দুঃখে
বলিনি কিছু মুখে
মনের চিত্র দেখে'
মমতা মাধুরী ঢেলে' দিলে

সুখে চিনিতে পারিনি
দুঃখে চিনেছি তোমায়
বেদনায় ভালবাসা দিলে
সরালে সব তমসায়
আমার আমি-রে ভরে' রেখে'
ঘিরে' রয়ে গেলে প্রতিপলে

O Lord, You did not come during my happiness,
and came during my sorrows
to provide consolation.
I never told that You are mine,
but You remained becoming my own.
I was perturbed with sorrows,
but did not speak anything with mouth.
By looking at my mental picture,
You poured sweetness of affection.
I could not recognize You during happiness,
but recognized during sorrows.
By providing love during my pains,
You removed all darkness.
Pervading my “I” feeling completely,
You kept me surrounded each moment.
