O lord, you came, loved,
You have come, and You've held dear;
and got merged up in all minds.
You've got mixed with everybody's psyche.
the stars in the sky are not dark,
But the star of my sky, it is dark and gloomy,
you are with me.
For You are not with me.
looking for you, i went for pilgrimage,

many vows, penances and holy baths i performed.
To search for You I have gone on pilgrimage;
but i did not see you anywhere,
I've practiced vows, penance, and ablutions.
even flashes i did not get,
I sighted not anywhere, did not find even a hint;
you see all that and smile.
You have grinned, seeing me constantly.
the messenger from heaven came down,

and told me secretly into my ears.
Descending, heaven's envoy has approached;
that touchstone would come only then,
On the down low, in my ear he has told:
when you would see within the mind itself.
"That [[:wikipedia:Philosopher's stone|panacea]] will arrive at the very moment
When toward the mind-core you have peered."

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi esecho bhálo besecho
Sakaler mane mishe gecho
Ákásheri tárá andhakárá
Nao tumi mor sáthe ácho

Tomáre khuṋjite tiirthe giyáchi
Kata vrata tap snán kariyáchi
Kotháo dekhi ni ábháso pái ni
Tumi dekhe dekhe hesecho

Alakári dút námiyá eseche
Cupicupi mor káne kaye geche
Se parashmańi ásibe takhani
Jabe mana májhe tákiyecho

You have come, and You've held dear;
You've got mixed with everybody's psyche.
But the star of my sky, it is dark and gloomy,
For You are not with me.

To search for You I have gone on pilgrimage;
I've practiced vows, penance, and ablutions.
I sighted not anywhere, did not find even a hint;
You have grinned, seeing me constantly.

Descending, heaven's envoy has approached;
On the down low, in my ear he has told:
"That panacea will arrive at the very moment
When toward the mind-core you have peered."
