O lord!
Sleep-besieged and blind-attachment-ringed,
Who are you who came into my eyelids,
Who are You that on these eyelids mine appeared?
which were lethargyfastened
Orbs lined with song and smeared with love's honey,
and surrounded by blind attachments?
You touched down upon my heart, so melancholy.

You came down into my disappointed heart.
The lotus which was not full-blown in my mind,
You came with eyes marked with the collyrium of love.
Which gave not a scent or hue that satisfied,
You came with sweetnessabsorbed affection.
You made it blossom and filled it with honey;
You came and went unbidden, my Master Unseen.

The lotus that never bloomed in my mind,
The hopeful tune which never did resonate,
providing joy
Which did not reverberate in the musical scale,
with fragrance and colour
Sweetly strumming that on the strings of Your lyre,
at any time
Forgiving shortcomings, You suffused my psychic sky.
You made it bloom and filled it with honey.

O, unseen controller!
You came down without me calling you!

The tune, full of hope,
that never sounded,
the musical octave that never vibrated
You made them tinkle sweetly
on the strings of the viin'a'.

By forgiving my mistakes,
You filled the firmament of my heart.
