Ragatmika bhakti (Roman Sanskrit: Rágátmiká Bhakti) is a type of Bhakti in which a devotee only wants to give pleasure to the Lord.[1]
Description
Ragatmika bhakti is the type of Bhakti in which a devotee loves and worships the Lord only to give the Lord pleasure. According to Shrii Shrii Anandamurti, such a devotee's mentality is something like—[1]
I love Him because I cannot remain without loving Him.
Ragatmika bhakti and Raganuraga bhakti
The stage prior to Ragatmika bhakti is Raganuga bhakti. Raganuga bhakti leads to Ragatmika bhakti — "Rágátmikámanusrt́a yásá Rágánugácayate".[2] According to Anandamurti-ji, the basic difference between in these two stages is that in Raganuga bhakti, a devotee wants to get pleasure, but in Ragatmika bhakti the devotee only wants to give pleasure.[1]
