Dekhini sindhu udvela

Guru garjane sindhu sarav
Táháte mishiyá jáy dhvani sab

Se mahádhvanite caiṋcala

অমন করিয়া ডেকে' চলো (কেন)
কূপোদকে দিলে তরঙ্গ ঢেলে'
ভাবাবেগে করে' উচ্ছল

সাগরের তীরে ছিলুম একেলা
ঝিনুক কুড়িয়ে কেটে' গেছে বেলা
ধূলোবালি নিয়ে করে' গেছি খেলা
দেখিনি সিন্ধু উদ্বেল

গুরু গর্জনে সিন্ধু সরব
তাহাতে মিশিয়া যায় ধ্বনি সব
ক্ষুদ্র প্রাণের অণিমা-আসব
সে মহাধ্বনিতে চঞ্চল

Water from a well You doled in waves,
Surging with a passionate emotion.

I had been alone on coast of sea;
The daytime has passed, shell gathering.
With sands a game I've gone on making;
I saw not the inundating ocean

"Guru" the ocean howls aloud;
In that it keeps blending every sound.
A puny life's heady tininess-power,[nb 2]
Tremulous, on that great sonance.
