O lord!
You brought sweet scent into my mental garden.
You came bringing fragrance
Strumming my heart-strings,
into my mental garden,
You'd arrived with a song.
and through songs,
vibrated the instrument of my heart.

My inner voice was lying suppressed
My inner speech had been buried
with agonies piled up from ages back.
Neath a heap of pain, age after age.
You removed that pile
That pile You removed, and You renewed
and aroused expressions
My voice with music in fresh tunes.
of new melodies within me.
Secretly, You'd appeared before me.

You came in isolation.
My love's sweetness had been concealed,
The sweetness of affection
Its buds mute, in a cavern entombed.
was lying dumb,
You removed the lid and set them free;
concealed in the cave of buds.
Restoring to my heart its inner core.

Fearlessly, You'd appeared before me.
You removed that veil,
and unfolded my heart.
You came gradually.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Saorabh ene mana upavane
Jhauṋkrta hiyátantriite
Tumi ásiyáchile sauṋgiite

Maramer váńii cápá paŕechilo
Vedanár stúpe juge juge
(Tumi) Se stúp sarále jágáiyá dile
Udgiita sure nava ráge
Ásiyáchile nibhrte (tumi)

Mamatár madhu d́háká paŕechilo
Múk koraker kandare
(Tumi) Se d́háká sarále unmocita
Kare dile mor antare
Ásiyáchile acakite (tumi)

You brought sweet scent into my mental garden.
Strumming my heart-strings,
You'd arrived with a song.

My inner speech had been buried
Neath a heap of pain, age after age.
That pile You removed, and You renewed
My voice with music in fresh tunes.
Secretly, You'd appeared before me.

My love's sweetness had been concealed,
Its buds mute, in a cavern entombed.
You removed the lid and set them free;
Restoring to my heart its inner core.
Fearlessly, You'd appeared before me.
