Having snatched the sleep out of eyes
He visited in the night,
And crammed fragrance into shrines,
removing all darkness,
Washing darkness far aside,
snatching away the slumber from my eyes
In the late night He'd arrived.
and filling the whole of my house with fragrance.

With clouds the sky was abounding;
The sky was filled with clouds,
With worries the air was heavy.
the air was heavy and restless.
To greet Him none was there,
No one awaited him in welcome.
At that time anticipating.

He had come notwithstanding;
Yet, he came in enchanting fashion
He had romped with lute a-jingling.
with the jingling melody of his viin'a.
Then quietly He did leave;

None came to Him to wish Godspeed.
He went away silently
and no one came to bid him farewell.

Nayaner ghum kere niye is the 1188th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Nayaner ghum keŕe niye
Suváse ghar bhariye diye
Tamasá dúre sariye
Nishiithe esechilo se

Meghe ákásh bhará chilo
Uddvege vátás bhárii chilo
Svágata jánáte ná chilo
Keu takhan tári áshe base

Tabu se ásiyáchilo
Viińár jhauṋkáre mátiyechilo
Niirave cale gelo se
Keu vidáy jánáy ni táre ese

He visited in the night,
removing all darkness,
snatching away the slumber from my eyes
and filling the whole of my house with fragrance.

The sky was filled with clouds,
the air was heavy and restless.
No one awaited him in welcome.

Yet, he came in enchanting fashion
with the jingling melody of his viin'a.

He went away silently
and no one came to bid him farewell.
