When the way is submerged by an ocean of gloom,
When the way is lost in an ocean of gloom,
Don't forget the polestar of life.
Just don't forget the polestar of life.
Can a dark ocean overwhelm the ethereal beloved,
Can dark waters overwhelm the ethereal beloved,
Who dances round and round despair?
Who dances round and round despair?

Place many a fresh flower on the altar of mind;
Place many a fresh flower on the altar of mind;
Attentively sprinkle them with dew-washed smiles.
Attentively sprinkle them with dew-washed smiles.
Across the fair sky, see His radiance floating
Across the fair firmament, watch His radiance float
On a sea of form-free spirituality.
On a sea of form-free spirituality.

There is neither prayer, nor asking, nor attainment.
Of no avail is prayer or seek-and-find;
Just keep on watching His Majesty, and saturate your heart with His radiance.
Just see Him very near, and life is replete.

Andhar sagare patha hariye is the 193rd song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Áṋdhár ságare patha háriye
Jiivaner dhruvatárá bhulo ná re
Śaŕá timiraságara páre arúpa citacore
Je bá náce áṋdhárke ghire ghire

Mánasavediite rákho tájá phularáshi
Citta te bhare dáo shishira dhaota hási
Maiṋjula mahákáshe dekho tár jyoti bhase
Rúpátiita cinmaya ságare

Kono prárthaná nay kono cáoyá páoyá nay
Dekho táre káchákáchi paráń bhare

When the way is lost in an ocean of gloom,
Just don't forget the polestar of life.
Can dark waters overwhelm the ethereal beloved,
Who dances round and round despair?

Place many a fresh flower on the altar of mind;
Attentively sprinkle them with dew-washed smiles.
Across the fair firmament, watch His radiance float
On a sea of form-free spirituality.

Of no avail is prayer or seek-and-find;
Just see Him very near, and life is replete.
