Dear lord,
Watching the path of Your advent, Love,
waiting for you,
The lamp's got extinguished...
my lamp got extinguished.
Vying with the darkness,
Its ghee{{#tag:ref|In Hinduism, a type of [[:wikipedia:Ghee#In_Hinduism|clarified butter]], often used as fuel in ritual lamps for humble greeting of the deity.|group="nb"}} has been finished;
Now it is Your mercy I implore.

Struggling with the darkness,
For Your sake the lamp was lit constantly,
the oil (ghee) became exhausted.
In clattering of storm, in rustling of trees...
Now in the dark I am seated, in the gloom I am alert;
This Your lamp, please carry it.

This time i beg your grace.
With me, what wick and ghee had been present,
For you i had kept my lamp burning,
All of it has finished; my head is made to bend...
day and night,
Many hundred times, myself I surrender;
saving it from storms and winds (that shake trees).
At this moment, kindly take my burden.
I am sitting in the darkness,
awake at night,
having to hold and take care of the lamp.

All the items i had,
needed for the lamp to survive,
are now exhausted,
and i am unable to do whatsoever anymore.
I am defeated.

Hence, i surrender myself to you -
a hundred times.
This time, please take my burden.
