Notes
- ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
- ^ Shiva is known by many names. One of those names is Dhúrjat́i (ধূর্জটি). The name is essentially a description of Shiva, based on the depiction of His hair, matted and with chignon on the top of the head (pointing upward).[2]
- ^ Another name of Shiva is Nádatanu (নাদতনু). Náda is the primordial sound, the omkara. And tanu signifies the embodiment of that. On occasion, Sarkar himself translated Nádatanu as "music personified", and so that translation is used here.[3]
