Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ashrukańá kena dhuliche balo hena
Ánkhite dodul
Ke diyeche vyathá kayniko kathá
Chinŕeche málári phul

Saláj shefáliike sandhyá smitáloke
Shádá megher phánke kena se náhi d́áke
Bojho ná vyathá tár cápá hiyár bhár
Kena rukśa elo cúl

Ke se bhálabáse káche náhi áse
Dúre theke háse lukáy cidákáshe
Bhálobásá tár bujhe ut́há bhár
E jeno kánt́áte gul

Why the teardrops are oscillating
in the swing of eyes?
who has inflicted pain; tell me,
the flowers in the garland are breaking off.
in the smiling illumination of the evening,
through the gaps of white clouds,
why does not he call the shy shefa’lii flower?
he does not understand your pain,
the suppressed burden of the heart,
why the head hair has become rough?
who is that who does not come
despite loving and smiles staying away,
hiding in the firmament of the mind.
it is difficult to understand his love,
as if flower amidst the thorn.
