Nijer atiita kichui jáni ná
Bhaviśyato bujhite pári ná
Atiita bhaviśyat májhe
Ke cáliye cale ámáre

Akárań nay kichui bhuvane
Kárań nihita prabhu tava mane
Kii ámi karuńá kare balo more
Kálodadhir upala tiire

কোথা' হতে আসি কোথা' যাই ভাসি'
এ কোথা-র কথা বলো মোরে
উৎস জানি না অন্ত দেখি না
চলিয়াছি কোন্‌ সাগরে

নিজের অতীত কিছুই জানি না
ভবিষ্যৎও বুঝিতে পারি না
অতীত-ভবিষ্যৎ মাঝে
কে চালিয়ে চলে আমারে

অকারণ নয় কিছুই ভুবনে
কারণ নিহিত প্রভু তব মনে
কী আমি করুণা করে বলো মোরে
কালোদধির উপল তীরে
