Notes
- ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
- ^ Specifically, this line refers to "the month of Phalgun", when spring is ushered in with the festival variably called Holi, Dolyatra, or Vasantotsava. In this festival, people play with colors, notably a red dye known as abir or phag. This spring festival is most commonly celebrated on the full moon day of Phalgun (around the beginning of March).
