O lord,
Why came You into my mind this day?
why did you come today into my mind
All the flowers, they have fallen down;
when all my flowers have withered away
In psyche's bower only thorns remain.
and in my mental garden only thorns remain?

Once upon a day, the beauty of flowers prevailed;
Once there was floral beauty,
as did sweetness and charming and delicate subtlety.
There was honey, there was pleasing subtlety.
My sweetness was overflowing,
My sweetness, it was overflowing;
yet, on that day you did not come
In those days, though invited, You did not appear.
even after hearing my invocation.

My altar was fragrant and decorated,
Fragrant was my altar, decorated well;
for you to bestow your grace that day.
Had You but come and graced me then.

Even now I think about it without end;
This event, i continuously think of, even to this day.
In a mental recess, pain is kept, suppressed.
I kept my agony suppressed in the depth of my mind.

Aji kena ele amar mane is the 1347th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

(Áji) Kena ele ámár mane
Phulguli sab jhare paŕe geche
Káṋtá paŕe áche mana vane

Ekdin chilo phuler suśamá
Chilo madhu chilo ramya tanimá
Ucchal chilo mor madhurimá
Sedin áso ni áváhane

Surabhita chilo sushobhita vedii
Sedin krpá kare ásite jadi
Ei kathá ájo bhávi niravadhi
Cepe rákhá vyathá mane gahane

Why came You into my mind this day?
All the flowers, they have fallen down;
In psyche's bower only thorns remain.

Once there was floral beauty,
There was honey, there was pleasing subtlety.
My sweetness, it was overflowing;
In those days, though invited, You did not appear.

Fragrant was my altar, decorated well;
Had You but come and graced me then.
Even now I think about it without end;
In a mental recess, pain is kept, suppressed.
