Today's tender trees—
This same young tree of today,
Their fruits, flowers, and heaps of leaves
With fruits and blooms and heaps of leaves,
Will blanket the scorched wasteland.
The hot wilderness it will veil

Sprinkling water with loving solicitation,
With sprinkling of water, with appeals of love,
We will all nurture you.
We will all nurture thee.
In rain and storm, disease and any affliction,
In rain with high wind, illness and its every symptom,
Trees, we are with you.
We are here with you, oh Tree.

Let the saline gray be covered.
May it get covered, the barren gray;
Let desert-like thirst be quenched.
Let it be free from desert-thirst.
Let a sweet green bathe
Neath greenery and tenderness, may all get shade,
Every barren of the universe.
Any wasteland that exists in the universe.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ájker ei shishutaru
Phale phule patrapuiṋje
D́heke debe tapta maru

Jalasiṋcane mamatár d́áke
Ámrá sabái báṋcábo tomáke
Jale jhaŕe roge sab upasarge
Tava sáthe morá áchi taru

Úśar dhúsar d́háká paŕe ják
Marutrśńiká liin haye ják
Shyámale komale cheye ják sab
Vishver jata áche maru

This same young tree of today,
With fruits and blooms and heaps of leaves,
The hot wilderness it will veil

With sprinkling of water, with appeals of love,
We will all nurture thee.
In rain with high wind, illness and its every symptom,
We are here with you, oh Tree.

May it get covered, the barren gray;
Let it be free from desert-thirst.
Neath greenery and tenderness, may all get shade,
Any wasteland that exists in the universe.
