O lord,
Only You have I loved;
I have forgotten
Since what time, that I've forgot.
since when
Joining my cast with Your color,
I have been loving you.
We are forging a new world.

Merging my colour into yours,
Brushed with Your color,
I create a new world.
On eastern sky the sun looms.
In Your color's twilight hue,
To realms unknown it goes off.
Arrival and departure, want and acquisition,
I have got to know only through You.

It is due to your colour
You exist, and I do too;
that the rising sun in the eastern sky becomes coloured.
But You will stay, and I will not persist.
And coloured in your hue,
Only inside You for ages without limit,
at dusk,
My tiny I, it will continue.
it goes down into an unknown territory.
This eternal truth is the chief doctrine;

With both heart and mind, today I have understood.
Coming and going,
desire and achievement,
all are due to you only.
This is what i have come to understand.

You exist,
I too exist,
but whereas you will continue to exist,
I won't.

This little "i" of mine will remain within you
for infinite time.

This eternal truth and absolute reality,
I have now come to understand deep within my heart.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ámi tomákei bhálabesechi
Kabe theke tá bhule gechi
Tomár rauṋe rauṋ miliye
Nútan dhará raciyáchi

Tomár rauṋe rauṋin haye
Ravir uday púrvákáshe
Tomár rauṋer sandhyáráge
Jáy se cale acin deshe
Ásá jáoyá cáoyá páoyá
Tomáy niyei jene gechi

Ácho tumi áchi ámi
Thákbe tumi ná rabo ámi
Tomár májhei anantakál
Theke jábe kśudra ámi
E cira satya parama tattva
Mane práńe áj bujhechi

Only You have I loved;
Since what time, that I've forgot.
Joining my cast with Your color,
We are forging a new world.

Brushed with Your color,
On eastern sky the sun looms.
In Your color's twilight hue,
To realms unknown it goes off.
Arrival and departure, want and acquisition,
I have got to know only through You.

You exist, and I do too;
But You will stay, and I will not persist.
Only inside You for ages without limit,
My tiny I, it will continue.
This eternal truth is the chief doctrine;
With both heart and mind, today I have understood.
