Pal guńe jábo patha ceye rabo
Shukháibe maner mrńál

Kabariir veńii khasiyá paŕeche
Aiṋjan jale muchiyá giyáche
Kapáler t́ip ghrter pradiip
Niśprabha prati sáṋjha sakál

Phuler pápŕi mlán haye geche
Koraker madhu shúnye mileche
Phul jhare geche káṋt́á paŕe áche
Bicháyecho e kii máyájál

(আর) কত কাল বলো কত কাল
পল গুণে' যাব পথ চেয়ে রব
শুকাইবে মনের মৃণাল

কবরীর বেণী খসিয়া পড়েছে
অঞ্জন জলে মুছিয়া গিয়াছে
কপালের টিপ ঘৃতের প্রদীপ
নিষ্প্রভ প্রতি সাঁঝ-সকাল

ফুলের পাপড়ি ম্লান হয়ে গেছে
কোরকের মধু শূন্যে মিলেছে
ফুল ঝরে' গেছে কাঁটা পড়ে' আছে
বিছায়েছ এ কী মায়াজাল

How much longer, do say, oh how long
Will I go on counting moments, stay watching the path?
Will it wilt and dry up, the mind's lotus stalk?

Getting detached, chignon's braid has dropped;
From tears kohl is getting mopped.
Forehead's teep and lamp of ghee,
Lackluster each dusk to dawn.

The flower's petals have turned wan;
Nectar of bud, with none has it got on.
Fallen has the blossom, outstanding are the thorns;
Such a web of magic You have spawned!
