Why the teardrops are oscillating
Do tell please, drops of tear, why they are hanging that way,

Staying far, He smiles and hides in the sky of mind.

Shádá megher pháṋke kena se náhi d́áke
Bojhe ná vyathá tár cápá hiyár bhár
Kena rukśa elocul

Ke se bhálabáse káche náhi áse
Dúre theke háse lukáy cidákáshe
Bhálabásá tár bujhe ut́há bhár

অশ্রুকণা কেন দুলিছে বল হেন
আঁখিতে দোদুল
কে দিয়েছে ব্যথা কয় নিকো কথা
ছিঁড়েছে মালারই ফুল

সলাজ শেফালীকে সন্ধ্যা স্মিতালোকে
শাদা মেঘের ফাঁকে কেন সে নাহি ডাকে
বোঝে না ব্যথা তার চাপা হিয়ার ভার
কেন রুক্ষ এলোচুল

কে সে ভালবাসে কাছে নাহি আসে
দূরে থেকে' হাসে লুকায় চিদাকাশে
ভালবাসা তার বুঝে' উঠা ভার
এ যেন কাঁটাতে গুল
