Saying He would come, He left;
Saying He would come, He left;
Still that Friend has not returned.
Still that Friend has not returned.
With harp's flourish, He told...
With harp's flourish, He told:
See simplicity, set aside deceit.
See simplicity, set aside deceit.

Neglecting the goal, I moved on many paths;
Forgetting the goal, I walked down many roads;
I did not follow the bright surface of righteousness.
The bright path of righteousness I did not follow.
With bewitching beckonings was I enticed,
With bewitching beckonings was I enticed,
Forgetting Your chief behest, seek the truth.
Neglecting Your crucial behest, seek the truth.

Today light shines forth from all sides
Today, in every direction sparkles the light.
telling me to closely remain on the right path.
It proclaims that graciously You are just nearby.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ásibe baliyá giyáche caliyá
Baṋdhuyá phiriyá elo ná ájo
Bale geche more viińára jhaṋkáre
Saralke here vakrake tyejo

Lakśyake bhúle calechi náná pathe
Cali ni álojhará sámne sojá pathe
Moheri hátcháni niye geche t́áni
Bhuláye sár váńii satyake khoṋjo

(Áj) Cáridike háy álo jhalakáy
More kaye jáy tumi káchei rájo

Saying He would come, He left;
Still that Friend has not returned.
With harp's flourish, He told:
See simplicity, set aside deceit.

Forgetting the goal, I walked down many roads;
The bright path of righteousness I did not follow.
With bewitching beckonings was I enticed,
Neglecting Your crucial behest, seek the truth.

Today, in every direction sparkles the light.
It proclaims that graciously You are just nearby.
