My Paramapurusa, my Lord
My Abiding Friend—
is covered with golden light.
My Abiding Friend—
Is enveloped in golden light.

The bird of dawn begins to sing,
The bird of dawn
vibrant with new life.
Feels like singing,
Smeared with life's pollen.

Why all this?
What is the message?
In answer to whose call?
Who is calling?

Day and night, I seek Him.
Day and night I seek Him.
A new light flashes,
The new light sends forth a blaze of effulgence
And I flap new wings.
and beats its new wings of joy.

My Parmapurusa, my Lord
is covered with golden light.

Lyrics

Roman script Bengali script Translation

Bandhu ámár
Bandhu ámár
Sonár áloy d́háká

Bhorer pákhii
Ut́hlo d́ákii
Práńer parág mákhá

Kiser táre
Kiser d́áke
Dine ráte khunji táke
Natun áloy jhalkáni dey
Doláy natun pákhá

বন্ধু আমার
বন্ধু আমার
সোনার আলোয় ঢাকা

ভোরের পাখী
উঠলো ডাকি
প্রাণের পরাগ মাখা

কিসের তারে
কিসের ডাকে
দিনে রাতে খুঁজি তাকে
নতুন আলোয় ঝলকানি দেয়
দোলায় নতুন পাখা

My Abiding Friend—
My Abiding Friend—
Is enveloped in golden light.

The bird of dawn
Feels like singing,
Smeared with life's pollen.

What is the message?
Who is calling?
Day and night, I seek Him.
A new light flashes,
And I flap new wings.
