You came when it was cloudy;
Showering rain You came,
In Your divine show
Your body smeared with the splendor of clouds.
The clouds were beautifully displaying themselves.
Those days, they are enshrined in my memory;
In my heart, even now, quivering is aroused.

The holy memory of that day
How many days, how many eras have since passed?
Still brings shivering to my being.
Into how many colors has the earth since then turned?
How many days, how many eras
The lost melody of bygone days
Have since passed?
Into how many colors
Has the earth since then turned?

The lost melody of bygone days
Still intoxicates my mind.
Still intoxicates my mind.
Everyone comes and goes
You only are eternal.

You were present in the past,
Everyone comes and goes; You only are eternal.
You are present now
You were present in the past, You are present now
And You will forever be present in future.
And You will forever be present in future.
In the rain of that day, I attained you.
In the rain of that day, I attained you.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Bhará bádale tumi esechile
Jalader chat́á mákhiyá gáy
Se diner sei puńya smrtit́i
Ájo práńe shiharań jágáy

Kata din geche kata jug geche
Dharańiir rúpe kata rauṋ eseche
Se diner sei purono kathát́i
Háráno surete ájo mátáy

Ásá jáoyá áche sakaler sáthe
Tumi shudhu ácho nitya balite
Tumi chile ácho thákiyá jáibe
Dhará dile shudhu se varaśáy

Showering rain You came,
Your body smeared with the splendor of clouds.
Those days, they are enshrined in my memory;
In my heart, even now, quivering is aroused.

How many days, how many eras have since passed?
Into how many colors has the earth since then turned?
The lost melody of bygone days
Still intoxicates my mind.

Everyone comes and goes; You only are eternal.
You were present in the past, You are present now
And You will forever be present in future.
In the rain of that day, I attained you.
