Candanasare manthana kare is the 1641st song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Candanasáre manthana kare
Ke go ele tumi abeláy
Kańt́he tomár triloker hár
Madhurimá mákhá dyotanáy

Ciracaiṋcala vajrakat́hora
Vidhivibaddha tumi citacora
Ánane tomár dyuti alakár[nb 2]
Rúpe guńe dharáre mátáy

Chande mukhar nirguń tabu
Shivádvaeta sabákár prabhu
Hára náhi tumi mániyácho kabhu
Dánaver múŕha spardháy

O lord,
churning the essence of sandal,
who are you who came at this untimely hour?

Upon your neck lies the garland of the three-layered universe,
shining with the sweetness of absorption.

Ever restless,
extremely hard,
bound by your own law,
You are the charming stealer of mind.

There is heavenly effulgence on your face.

You intoxicate the world
and bring the charm of your beauty and attributes to it.
Though you are beyond attributes,
You still express yourself though rhythms.

O singular shiva!
O lord!

You never accept defeat from the foolish challenges of devils.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ In the Sargam, these two words are reversed. Hence, they are also reversed in the audio rendition. However, in the latest Bengali edition[1] a correction has been made, presumably for poetic reason. Here, the latest Bengali is preferred.

Recordings

Currently, only one audio file is available. However, in addition to the words reversed in the third line of the second verse, the last word of the first and second lines of that same verse are also sung incorrectly. Hence, a new audio recording is required.
