O lord, with the incense of meditation
With incense of meditation and the lamp of life,
and the lamp of life,
I've set ablaze a festive row of lights.
I kindled a festival of lights for you.
If You don't arrive, it goes in vain,
This twilight that I have just made.

If you do not come,
With hue and form You've filled Your earth,
the fresh decoration of this twilight
And in the mind You've infused deep attachment.
will go in vain.
When the tale of all delusion was complete,
You bestowed the dust from Your holy feet.

With your beauty and colours
You've imbued each heart with Your dance and song,
You have filled this earth.
And in the mind You've infused deep elation.
Into my mind,
When the tale of all our pleasure is complete,
You aroused attachment.
Bringing love, You Who were removed come near.

When attachment saturated,
You granted the dust of your feet,
and filled all hearts
with song and dance.

Into my mind, you poured love.
When affection overflowed,
I held you close.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Dhyánera dhúpe práńera pradiipe
Jváliye rekhechi diipávalii
Tumi ná ásile jáy je viphale
Sadya sájáno ei godhúli

Rauṋe rúpe tava dharáre bharecho
Maner májhe moha bhariyá diyecho
Sakal moheri sheś katháte
Diye gecho tava carańadhúli

Náce gáne sab hiyáre bharecho
Maner májhe priiti bhariyá diyecho
Sakal priitiri sheś katháte
Sampriitite káche áso je cali

With incense of meditation and the lamp of life,
I've set ablaze a festive row of lights.
If You don't arrive, it goes in vain,
This twilight that I have just made.

With hue and form You've filled Your earth,
And in the mind You've infused deep attachment.
When the tale of all delusion was complete,
You bestowed the dust from Your holy feet.

You've imbued each heart with Your dance and song,
And in the mind You've infused deep elation.
When the tale of all our pleasure is complete,
Bringing love, You Who were removed come near.
