You brought life to those slumbering in deep sleep,
On slighted ones who had been unconscious,
and who, for such a long time,
Who had not realized the human right to live,
had been barely surviving,
You applied compassion, and eyes You opened...
nearly dying from distressful inertia.
Irreversibly, oh Beloved, always and forever.
 
With the touch of your stick,
You gently broke their slumber.
 
On those unconscious ones,
bereft of vivacity,

Jiyankát́hir parash bulále
Ghum bheuṋge dile bhála kare

Hatamáne járá chilo acetan
Báṋcár adhikár jáne ni je jan
Mamatá mákhále áṋkhi khule dile
Cira tare priya cira tare

এলে ক্লেশ করে' এত দিন পরে
কার তরে বলো কার তরে
জীবনের উত্তাপ সঙ্গে আনিলে
প্রীতি ভরে' প্রিয় প্রীতি ভরে'

যারা এতদিন হিমঘুমে ছিল
দারুণ জড়তায় বেঁচে' মরে' ছিল
জিয়নকাঠির পরশ বুলালে
ঘুম ভেঙ্গে দিলে ভাল করে'

হতমানে যারা ছিল অচেতন
বাঁচার অধিকার জানে নি যে জন
মমতা মাখালে আঁখি খুলে' দিলে
