Let the victory be yours, o shiva!
Victory to you, O Shiva, the self-arisen Pashupati,
Selfcreated lord!
Primordial lord, the beginningless master with matted locks,
Wielder of all animalistic tendencies!
witnessing entity of all minds and the mind’s cherished guest.

You came from the realm of light and dwell in the threefold universe;
You are the controller of the primordial
you bestow a sweet flow to all.
and preprimordial worlds.
O primordial God, everlasting, eternal, ancient:
With your long and matted locks of hair,
salutations to you, Lord, of auspicious advent.
You witness all minds.
Possessing all qualities (guńa), lord, you are beyond Prakrti’s guńas;
You reside beyond the realm of intellect.
you renounce everything, O master of the Gańas.

You dwell in time and beyond time;
Descending from a realm of effulgence,
you smile so sweetly bearing all the world, the world’s lord.
You made the three worlds your abode,
and permeated all with a flow of divine nectar.

You are the lord of all beginning.
You are ancient and eternal.
I salute you, o supreme benevolence!

You are the controller of the attributional world,
and yet, you remain beyond attributions.
You are the destroyer, controller and creator
of all objects and entities.

You sweetly smile from both within
and beyond the scope of time.
You are the controller and maintainer
of all layers of the cosmic mind!
