Lyrics

Roman script Bengali script Translation

Jeoná jeoná ogo bandhu
Tomá lági jege áchi divá nishi
Tumi ácho tái áche jagata vási
Tomáke sakale morá bhálobási

Ei álo ei cháyá ei je vátás,
Niilete cumki gánthá oi je ákásh
Tava sure tava tále sabái náce
Tava rág anurág sabái jáce
Bhuloná bhuloná o go bandhu
Káche ese hese jáo madhur hási

Ei hási ei gán ei je álok
Bháver mádhurii bhará ei je dyulok
Tava náme erá sabe chande máte
Maner kathát́i kaye tomári sáthe
Chinŕo ná chinŕo ná o go bandhu
Práńer parash pává puśpa ráshi

Do not go, O Lord, do not go!
For You, day and night, I stay awake.
Because You exist, the world exists.
With You, all beings are in love.

This light, this shade, this wind,
this blue sky adorned with the spangles of stars
are all dancing in Your melodious rhythm.
For, it is Your love that all are seeking.
Don't forget me, don't forget me! O divine friend!
With a sweet smile You come near
and, with a sweet smile, You again depart.

This laughter, this song,
this radiant light and the higher realms
are all mingled in Your ideation.
In Your name, all dance in joyous intoxication.
To You, all express their innermost heart.
Do not tear, do not tear, O divine friend
these flowers, vibrant with the touch of life.

Purport

This is how Sarkar himself described the meaning of the song.[3]

O Paramapurus'a, do not desert me. I am spending sleepless nights for You. The universe exists because You are there. Because of Your presence the universe is created. So the existence of the universe is dependent on Your existence. All natural beauties are dancing, all are getting inspiration from You. All long for Your love and affection. O Lord, come close and smile Your sweet and charming smile. My garland represents my love and intimacy. Let the flowers of my garland remain forever.
