Whose effulgence shines forth
Wherefrom comes the light in a niche of psyche;
in the corner of my mind,
What unfamiliar touch did your mind receive?
please tell me!
Oh please do tell, do tell please.
Stored up within spirit,
Which ambition was fulfilled?

In my mind,
Counting time how many days went by in vain;
which long accumulated aspirations
How many grand conclaves were dispersed in despair?
are becoming fulfilled today?
Hope and hopelessness, both being washed away,
Which unexpected guest came today?

How much time uselessly passed by waiting?
In a garden withered, your bud has arrived;
How many ceremonies ended in vain?
Ashen lips have now become colored bright.
Who is this stranger who came today,
All gloomy fatigue being cast aside,
dispelling all confusions?
His advent's lamp you ignite.

Today, the dry gardens are full of buds,
the dry lips have turned colourful.
Removing all the disgust of despair,
You sparked the candles of hope.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Manera końe kisera álo
Man kon ajánár parasha pela
Tumi balo tumi balo
Citta májhe saiṋcayita
Kon se áshá púrńa hala

Pal guńe vrthá kata ket́e geche din
Kata samároha hala hatásháy liin
Áshá niráshár dvandva saráye
Kon se atithi áji ela

Shuśka kánane tava kali eseche
Shuśka adhar rauṋin hayeche
Hatáshár sab gláni muche phele
Ásár pradiip tár jválo

Wherefrom comes the light in a niche of psyche;
What unfamiliar touch did your mind receive?
Oh please do tell, do tell please.
Stored up within spirit,
Which ambition was fulfilled?

Counting time how many days went by in vain;
How many grand conclaves were dispersed in despair?
Hope and hopelessness, both being washed away,
Which unexpected guest came today?

In a garden withered, your bud has arrived;
Ashen lips have now become colored bright.
All gloomy fatigue being cast aside,
His advent's lamp you ignite.
