What is my mental viin'a' saying today?
The mind's lyre, what does it convey;
What does the mind-lyre say today?
With each rhythmic beat, sweet and blissful,
With ambrosial jingle, it keeps me thrilled.

In the sweet bliss of each rhythm
How much has it got touched by hand;
and in nectar filled and tingling tunes,
With such emotion, how much has it said?
it remains engrossed.
At any time something like a shiver strikes,
With the rise and fall on that lyre.

How much touch of hands did it get?
In mind's looking glass, what I've perceived;
How many experiences?
With psyche's fragrance, what I've received...
In how many ways did it speak?
Past time and space, Who's that Transcendent Being;

With the lyre, He goes on calling.
Due to its fainting
there has been no occasion for shivering.

The one whom i see in my mental mirror,
is also found in mental fragrance.
He is beyond thought, place and time,
I keep calling him, playing my viin'a'.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Manera viińá kii kathá kay
Áji manera viińá kii kathá kay
Chande chande madhuránande
Sudhá jhauṋkáre mete ray

Kata se karer parash peyeche
Kata anubhúti kata kii kayeche
Jágeni kakhano hena shiharańa
Viińára múrchanáy

Manera mukure jáháke dekhechi
Mana surabhite jáháke peyechi
Ke se bhávátiita desha-kálátiita
Viińáte d́ákiyá jáy

The mind's lyre, what does it convey;
What does the mind-lyre say today?
With each rhythmic beat, sweet and blissful,
With ambrosial jingle, it keeps me thrilled.

How much has it got touched by hand;
With such emotion, how much has it said?
At any time something like a shiver strikes,
With the rise and fall on that lyre.

In mind's looking glass, what I've perceived;
With psyche's fragrance, what I've received...
Past time and space, Who's that Transcendent Being;
With the lyre, He goes on calling.
