Jyoti jharále

Bandha chilo ámár duyár
Andha chilo nayan ámár
Ácambite práńer srote
Hiyá bharále

Chot́a mane báṋdhá chilum
Chot́a kájei theke jetum
Náŕá diye ghum bháuṋgiye
Káje lágále

তুমি মোর নয়নে এসেছিলে
আঁধার নিশার অবসানে
জ্যোতি ঝরালে

বন্ধ ছিল আমার দুয়ার
অন্ধ ছিল নয়ন আমার
আচম্বিতে প্রাণের স্রোতে
হিয়া ভরালে

ছোট মনে বাঁধা ছিলুম
ছোট কাজেই থেকে’ যেতুম
নাড়া দিয়ে ঘুম ভাঙ্গিয়ে
কাজে লাগালে

Before my eyes,
Before my eyes, You'd arrived.
At the end of gloomy night,
You scattered light.

My door had been sealed;
My eyes were without sight.
Suddenly, on life's stream,
My heart You satisfied.

I'd been bound in a small psyche,
Undertaking only lowly actions.
Giving a jerk that roused from sleep,
You set me to work.
