Sleep, drowsiness, anger, lethargy,
Sleep, stupor, anger, sloth,
procrastination and fear are the six enemies
Procrastination, and fear– with these six flaws
of human kind, powerful vices.
Even the great are undone,

Not to speak of lesser ones.
Even great personalities may be degraded by these,
what to speak of common people.

The princes after being outwitted by the fairy
set out to an unknown destination.

They began to search for a magic horse
After being vanquished by the fairy,
without which it was impossible to catch the fairy.
The princes went unto the back country.
Inflated with royal vanity,
A winged horse they sought to procure;
they didn't heed the needs of suffering human beings.
Without it, hard indeed would be a fairy's capture.
They couldn't win the love of their hearts.

They lost their common sense due to the spell of vanity.
With royal heritage they were besotted,
They lost their intellect,
To views of commoners they gave no respect.
and were finally tricked into defeat in their quest,
So no one's love they did win;
and they became captives of the demon.
In arrogant pride, lost is acumen.

They languished away in a dark prison cell.
Defeated in battle and bereft of intellect,
By an evil demon they were confined;
In a dark prison cell they now pass time.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Nidrá tandrá krodh álasya
Diirghasútratá bhay e dośe chay
Mahán vyaktio adhahpáte jáy
Adhamera kathá balári nay

Pariir nikat́e rańe hárár pare
Rájkumárerá gelo tepántare
Pakśiráj ghoŕá jot́ávára tare
Ná hale parii dhará viśama dáy

Rájakiiya royávete tárá mete
Mánuśe mánuś máne ni kona mate
Káro bhálabásá pelo ná táhárá
Demákeri dápe bodh háráy

Buddhi háriye rańe here giye
Dánavera páshe bandii hay
Tárá andha kárágáre kál kát́áy

Sleep, stupor, anger, sloth,
Procrastination, and fear– with these six flaws
Even the great are undone,
Not to speak of lesser ones.

After being vanquished by the fairy,
The princes went unto the back country.
A winged horse they sought to procure;
Without it, hard indeed would be a fairy's capture.

With royal heritage they were besotted,
To views of commoners they gave no respect.
So no one's love they did win;
In arrogant pride, lost is acumen.

Defeated in battle and bereft of intellect,
By an evil demon they were confined;
In a dark prison cell they now pass time.
