Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Niirava ráte ei nibhrte
Eso ámár cite
Ogo priyatama gopane
Jhará shephálii sará kuhelii
Eso mane mane nirajane

Kata jug dhare ceyechi tomáy
Kata sampade vyathá vedanáy
Amará madhute mor cetanáte
Theke jáo sáthe pratikśańe

Tomáre cinile sab hay cená
Tomáre jánile ajáná tháke ná
Sárthak kare sakal sádhaná
Ekathá shonáo gáne gáne

Keu dekhibe ná keu jánibe ná
Tomár kathát́i keu shunibe ná
Tumi thákibe tava priiti rabe
Ár keha nay bhuvane

On this same silent night, privately,
On my mental plate please appear,
Secretly, oh Darling Dear.
Fallen a night-jasmine; fog withdrawn,
Come into the core of my heart lonely.

I have yearned for You through many ages;
In much riches, in much pain and anguish.
By a sweetness heavenly in my feeling,
Do continue staying with me constantly.

On Your acquaintance, all becomes familiar;
By knowing You, the unknown remains not.
Having made fruitful all sadhana,
In songs aplenty this You sing.

One will not see, one will know not–
Your story, one will hear it not–
But You will stay, Your love will persevere;
In the universe none else is there.
