Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Pitá mátá bandhu sakhá
Áṋdháre álok vartiká
Sarva deshe sab kichu tumi
Keu kakhano nay eká

Duhkhera káṋt́áy tumi go kamal
Vyáthára jváláy shiitala candan
Sab háránor sparshamańi
Gulbágicár será máliká

Tumi ácho tái ámio áchi
Tumii práńer diipiká

O my Lord,
You are my father,
You are my mother,
You are my dear friend
and my eternal companion.
You are the beacon of light in darkness.

Encompassing the entire space,
You encircle everything
no one is ever left alone.

You are the lotus flower amidst thorns of pain.
You are the cool and soothing ointment on burns and pains.
You are the alldissolving touchstone
and the most charming flower in my garden.

I exist, because You exist.
It is due to You, that my life finds illumination.
