E kon suraloke sur sádhile (tumi)
Púrva ákáshe raktimábháse
Ashánta hiyá májhe shánti dile (jata)

Tomár ámár májhe vyavadhán chila jata
Ekt́i smita hási kare dila apahrta
Ati brhat tumi atiiva kśudra ámi
E duyere káchákáchi kariyá nile

Ár basiyá káṋdivár thámiyá thákivár
Nei kona avasar nei kona adhikár[nb 2]
Tomár tále tále bhávátiita udvele
Ámáre sauṋge niye path calile (tumi)

সৌরকরোজ্জ্বল স্বর্ণিম সুপ্রভাতে
এ কোন্‌ সুরলোকে সুর সাধিলে (তুমি)
পূর্ব আকাশে রক্তিমাভাসে
অশান্ত হিয়া মাঝে শান্তি দিলে (যত)

তোমার আমার মাঝে ব্যবধান ছিল যত
একটি স্মিত হাসি করে’ দিল অপহৃত
অতি বৃহৎ তুমি অতীব ক্ষুদ্র আমি
এ দু’য়েরে কাছাকাছি করিয়া নিলে

আর বসিয়া কাঁদিবার থামিয়া থাকিবার
নেই কোন অবসর নেই কোন অধিকার
তোমার তালে তালে ভাবাতীত উদ্বেলে
আমারে সঙ্গে নিয়ে পথ চলিলে (তুমি)

O lord,
what a heavenly melody did you play,
on this golden morning,
amidst bright sunrays?

From beyond the eastern sky,
with a reddish glow,
You provided peace to restless hearts.

Whatever obstructions existed between you and me,
were removed with one smile.
You are extremely great
and i extremely small.
Between us two, you brought about closeness.

No opportunity arises
for sitting down to cry
nor halting to rest,
for, neither is right.

With each rhythm of yours,
with the impulse of an entity beyond thought,
You took me along on your path.
