The most common reasons behind taking such an action are—
Content totally out of scope, needs complete rewriting
Script error This is the most common reason of TNT. If an article is written in such a way that it does not match at all with the project's guidelines and scopes, and to repair its damage, one needs to rewrite almost every word of it, the best solution is to blow the article up and start rewriting.
Copyright violation
The articles which have nothing but only copyright violated content are TNT-ed.
