(Sei) Svapnabhará ráte
Tandrá áṋkhipáte
Tomáre dekhechinu tomári jyotite
Páshe basivár kathá kahivár
Keha ná chilo sei álo jhará ráte

Argala khule ásile bhitare
Vátáyana pathe práń elo ghare
Eklá basechinu je ghor áṋdháre
Táhá bhare gelo álora chat́áte

Balechile more sabái tomár
Kona kárań nei keṋde kát́ávár
Jáhár áṋkhi jhare sadá anivár
Se jena káṋde shudhu lakśye labhite

(সেই) স্বপ্নভরা রাতে
তন্দ্রা আঁখিপাতে
তোমারে দেখেছিনু তোমারই জ্যোতিতে
পাশে বসিবার কথা কহিবার
কেহ না ছিলো সেই আলো-ঝরা রাতে

অর্গল খুলে আসিলে ভিতরে
বাতায়ন-পথে প্রাণ এলো ঘরে
একলা বসেছিনু যে ঘোর আঁধারে
তাহা ভরে গেলো আলোর ছটাতে

বলেছিলে মোরে সবাই তোমার
কোন কারণ নেই কেঁদে কাটাবার
যাহার আঁখি ঝরে সদা অনিবার
সে যেন কাঁদে শুধু লক্ষ্যে লভিতে

O Lord,
on that dreamy night,
with drowsy eyes,
I saw you
in the reflection of your light.

On that illuminated night,
there was no one
to sit near you
nor to communicate with.

You opened the bolts of my windows
and entered the room,
infusing it with new life.

The intense darkness
that i was dwelling in,
became filled with the beauty of illumination.

You told me that all are yours
and that there should be no reason
for wasting one's time crying.

One whose tears flow on ceaselessly,
is to cry for the attainment of his/her goal only.
