A question of voice

Not knowing the language or its grammar, my inclination was to translate the first three lines in the imperative mood. For example: "Don't pass your life for no use." That would change the tone of those first three lines but not the subtle meaning. However, on examination of three other translations of those lines, I found that everyone else had translated the lines in a simple first person past tense. So, on careful consideration, I deferred to the other translators in this respect; and, hopefully, I have not merely entrenched an error. --Abhidevananda (talk) 15:31, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
