O lord, i like to think about you.
It pleases me Yourself to ponder...
Why is that? tell me.
Why do You not speak, why do You not speak?
What's this hope, this hopeless dream,
A cradle rocking between wanting and not getting?

What sort of hope is this,
Why don't You come near, why just stay far-far distant;
what audacity of yours,
Why just call me like a phantom with a beckon?
that lets me wander to and fro
Myself upon sky You keep floating like a flower's pollen;
between desire and non-achievement?
What is this love of Yours... is it deceit?

Why do you not come close?
River, the ocean she does like to discover;
Why do you stay afar?
Comet comes racing into Earth's circumference.

And I too, in guise of meditation, with You want to merge;
Why do you call me
But even knowing this, You don't take heed?
with your indistinct presence
and an unfamiliar gesture?

You keep me floating in the sky
like the pollen of flowers.
What a delusion of yours is this?
O my dear one!

The stream floats towards the ocean,
the meteorite rushes on towards the earth's atmosphere.
Likewise, do i desire to merge in you...
under the impulse of meditation,
under the impulse of my dhya'na -
do not you know this?

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomáke bhávite bhálo láge mor
Kena balo ná kena balo ná
E kii áshá e kii duráshá
Cáoyá na-páoyár jhulaná

Kena náhi káche áso kenai bá dúre tháko
Ábháse iuṋgite kenai bá more d́áko
Kusumaparág sama ákáshe bhásáye rákho
E kii priya tava chalaná

Saritá bhálabáse mahodadhike pete
Ulká chút́e áse dharári pariveshete
Ámio dhyánáveshe cái tomáte mishite
E ki jániyáo jáno ná

It pleases me Yourself to ponder...
Why do You not speak, why do You not speak?
What's this hope, this hopeless dream,
A cradle rocking between wanting and not getting?

Why don't You come near, why just stay far-far distant;
Why just call me like a phantom with a beckon?
Myself upon sky You keep floating like a flower's pollen;
What is this love of Yours... is it deceit?

River, the ocean she does like to discover;
Comet comes racing into Earth's circumference.
And I too, in guise of meditation, with You want to merge;
But even knowing this, You don't take heed?
