O lord,
For You is strung my ''[[:wikipedia:Garland#In_India|málá]]'';
I threaded a floral garland for you
On Your account I've made this ''[[:wikipedia:Alpana|álpaná]]''.
and decorated my flooring.
Eagerly awaiting Thee I bide my time;
Around You whirl all thoughts of mine.

For you, i have been waiting.
Flowers I've plucked and songs composed;
All my thoughts are confined to you only.
Your seat I've spread in my heart's core.
With mind's lamp I've adorned Your altar;
With Your name am I engrossed.

I brought flowers,
I'm Yours alone, but You belong to everyone;
created songs,
Having known sustained neglect, my psyche, it gets gloomy.
spread the seat for you in my mind.
My days go by expecting Thee;
I decorated your altar with my mental lamp,
With hopelessness and hope, Your web is wove.
and became engrossed in your name.

I am yours but you are for all.
Becoming aware of this fact,
my mind darkens.

My days pass by,
awaiting you,
weaving webs of hope and despair.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomár lagi málá gáṋthá
Tomár tare ei álpaná
Tomá lági patha ceye tháká
Tomáke ghire jata bhávaná

Phul tuliyáchi giit raciyáchi
Marma májháre ásana petechi
Manera pradiipe vedii sájáyechi
Hayechi tava náme unmaná

Ámio tomári go tomári sakali to
Jeneo bhule tháke tamasáhata cita
Tava pratiikśáy din ket́e jáy
Áshá nirásháy jál boná

For You is strung my málá;
On Your account I've made this álpaná.
Eagerly awaiting Thee I bide my time;
Around You whirl all thoughts of mine.

Flowers I've plucked and songs composed;
Your seat I've spread in my heart's core.
With mind's lamp I've adorned Your altar;
With Your name am I engrossed.

I'm Yours alone, but You belong to everyone;
Having known sustained neglect, my psyche, it gets gloomy.
My days go by expecting Thee;
With hopelessness and hope, Your web is wove.
