Loving You,
O lord, loving you
Gazing at Your path,
and looking onto your path,
How many ages have now passed?
how many eras and lives passed by?
I know but that it's been lifetimes.
I do not know this.

In love with the moon is the lily;
The night lily loves the moon
For the moon she laughs and cries.
and smiles and weeps for it.
The moon, does it not realize,
Does the moon not know this
Does it not understand the lily's mind?
and understand its mind?

The earth, full of love and affection,
The earth, full of flow and rhythm,
Without You, its charm is all absent.
is without beauty in your absence.
Like a cobra who has lost her gem,{{#tag:ref|Indian mythology places a precious jewel, ''nagamani'' or ''manihárá'', in the cobra's hooded head. Symbolically, the jewel signifies divine light. In the [[Discourses on Tantra|tantric]] tradition, the cobra represents the ''kuńd́alinii'' (one's serpentine force or sleeping divinity), and the jewel represents the ''sahasrára cakra'' (one's topmost energy center and the seat of final self-realization, corresponding physically to the pineal gland).|group="nb"}}
I keep crying, plunged in distress.

Maintaining hope, I have survived;
Like a jewellost serpent
With hope my heart I've pacified.
I continue crying,
Tell me please, this hope of mine...
submerged in agonies.
Will it never be fulfilled?

I am surviving due to hope only,
to which my heart is tightly bound.
Tell me whether this hope of mine
will ever be fulfilled.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomáre bhálobásiyá
Tomári patha cáhiyá
Ket́e geche kata je jug
Jáni ná se kata jiivan

Kumud bhálobáse cáṋde
Tári lági háse káṋde
Cáṋd ki táhá náhi jáne
Bojhe ná ki táhári man

Rase ráge bhará dhará
Tumi biná rúpahárá
Phańiisama mańiihárá
Káṋdiyá jái vyathámagan

Áshá niye beṋce áchi
Ásháte hrdi beṋdhechi
Mor e áshá balo more
Haibe ná ki sampúrań

O lord, loving you
and looking onto your path,
how many eras and lives passed by?
I do not know this.

The night lily loves the moon
and smiles and weeps for it.
Does the moon not know this
and understand its mind?

The earth, full of flow and rhythm,
is without beauty in your absence.

Like a jewellost serpent
I continue crying,
submerged in agonies.

I am surviving due to hope only,
to which my heart is tightly bound.
Tell me whether this hope of mine
will ever be fulfilled.
