O lord, come a bit closer
Come You a tad close-by,
and smile a little.
And also laugh for a while.

My penance upon the new moons,
I know you can remove
I know You'll contrive to remove...
the darkness of my penance.
Come You with the moon a mere slice.

Come to me like a strip of moon.
I know this darkness is not forever.
Whatsoever mental agonies appear,
they come and go hundreds of times.

This pitch- black ocean of darkness
I know the new-moon night is not without an end,
will leave with its head low in defeat,
However many slanders come and go in hundreds.
for, it is the divine effulgence that you love.
This ghastly dark ocean of dismal ignorance
But i will not accept defeat at any cost.
Will get cast aside with a bowed head...
To your lotus feet only,
You have liking only for the light.
will i remain holding on.

Whatever people may say,
I won't admit defeat, no, not in the least;
whatever may happen,
I will simply remain clinging to Yourself only.
I shall remain pure and smiling,
Whatever anyone may say, whoever he may be,
for, you are my beginning and my end.
I will remain with a smile bright and pure...
You are my source and also my closure.

Tumi ektu kache eso is the 1909th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi ekt́u káche eso
Ár ekt́ukháni heso
Mor tapasyá amávasyáre
Saráte páribe jáni
Tumi ek pháli cáṋde eso

Jáni amánishá nahe sháshvata
Kata gláni áse jáy shata shata
E ghor áṋdhár tamah párávár
Sare jábe máthá nata
Tumi álokei bhálabáso

Hár mánibo ná kona kichutei
Dhariyá thákibo shudhu tomákei
Je jái baluk je bá hok sei
Ámi rabo shucismita
Tumi mor ádi mor sheśo

Come You a tad close-by,
And also laugh for a while.
My penance upon the new moons,
I know You'll contrive to remove...
Come You with the moon a mere slice.

I know the new-moon night is not without an end,
However many slanders come and go in hundreds.
This ghastly dark ocean of dismal ignorance
Will get cast aside with a bowed head...
You have liking only for the light.

I won't admit defeat, no, not in the least;
I will simply remain clinging to Yourself only.
Whatever anyone may say, whoever he may be,
I will remain with a smile bright and pure...
You are my source and also my closure.
