Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi ele kothá hate gele kotháy
Keu jáne ná
Diner pare kena rátri áse
Áṋdhár punah kena álote bháse
More balo ná

Vipade hatáshá grasta hale
Áshár álo punah áṋkhite jvale
Nindá stuti gláni dale
Egiye calite dáo prerańá

Jharńádhárá cale tartariye
Ajáná ságarer pratiiti niye
Mete ot́he se sudúrera sure
Bádhá máne ná

O lord,
from where you did come,
and to which place you did go, nobody knows.
Why night comes after day, and again
darkness appears in light, tell me.

During distress, eclipsed by pessimism,
again, the ray of hope appears in the eyes.
By suppressing condemnation, praise, and repentance,
You provide inspiration for moving forward.

The flow of stream runs quickly towards unknown ocean,
with impression, and belief,
and also with distant melody,
without caring for any obstruction.
