Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Bhálor ceyeo tumi bhálo
Tabe kena dúre rayecho
Áṋdhár hiyár tumii álo
Amánishá kena rekhecho

Kata juger ipsita mor
Shata kánaner smita phulad́or
Kata nayaner ánandalor
Kena kuyásháy lukiye ácho

Madhur ceyeo madhur tumi
Saptaloke ádhárbhúmi
Tái ábhúmi tomáy nami[nb 2]
Kena sáŕá náhi ditecho

Still more than excellent, You are fine;
Even so You've stayed remote, why?
You alone are the gloomy heart's light;
Why have You bestowed a new-moon night?

My One desired from so many ages
Floral thread of a hundred smiling gardens...
Many eyes, their tears of bliss...
Why are You hidden, mist thereby?

Even more than honey are You sweet:
A homeland in the seven spheres.
So down to ground I bow before Thee;
Why are You not giving reply?
