Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Kusumakánane manavitáne
Áveshe pápiyá gáy
Tumi kotháy balo tumi kotháy
Práńeri parashe giiti rabhase
Kalite dolá jágáy

Kishalaye ár mukule mileche
Shálmalii taru phule bhare geche
Maner gahane susmitánane
Sabái ekere cáy

Kiḿshuka van varńe heseche
Cyuta kalikár gandha bheseche
Kuśt́hale jale anale anile
Sudhádhárá baye jáy

At a flower-garden under mind's pavilion,
Confounded, a hawk-cuckoo sings:
"Where are You, oh do tell please, You are where?
Touched by my heart, a song with strong emotion
Arouses in the buds a swaying."

Convened have the fresh green leaves and blossoms;
The silk-cotton tree, in flower it has become.
At the depths of mind, with a sweet-smiling visage,
Everybody craves just one thing.

The grove of bastard teak has smiled with color;
Floated has the scent of fallen buds.
With fire and wind, on earth and water,
A stream of ambrosia keeps flowing.
