Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Mánuśer mane tumi sajatane
Racile je vedii he manohar
Priiti bhará gáne priya abhidhyáne
Mátále táhá cidámbar

Prayojan mato áche áyojan
Kusumete madhu parága milan[nb 2]
Shuktir májhe mukutá varań
Sájáye calecho prati prahar

Máliká mukule geṋthe dile málá
Bhrṋga auṋge daḿshana jválá
Jyotsná svapne mohaka mekhalá
Tava mádhuriite lokeshvar

O The Charming One, the altar that You have
created carefully in human mind,
that frenzies the mental sky
with song full of love and dear meditation.
All arrangements are according to the purpose.
You go on arranging in each period,
the honey in flower mixed with pollen,
and pearl within the shell.
The buds are threaded into garland,
in the body of the bee,
burning sting is provided,
the charming ornamental griddle
in the dreamy moonlight,
all by Your sweetness,
O the controller of the world.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ In the earliest Bengali publications (and early recordings), this word was marań. In the latest Bengali publication it became milan, which makes more sense in context.
