Abhidevananda joined as a monk of Ananda Marga and is a direct disciple of [[Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar]].
First initiated into Ananda Marga in the USA in the late 60's, Abhidevananda Avadhuta is now a senior acarya of Ananda Marga. From an early age as a worker of [[Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar]], he has served in various organizational positions around the world - predominantly in Africa, Europe, Australia, and Israel. He has worked for AMURT in disaster relief, and for PROUT as a revolutionary organizer. He has given numerous lectures around the world on many aspects of Ananda Marga.
