Who is he standing on my path?
Above my path You hovered;
Tell me.
Won't You tell me Who You are?
I'd resolved to give up the way.
You did not let me go astray.

You told me that you would not allow me
Before me there's a chasm deep,
to leave the proper path
Which black screen's held in hiding.
and move on the wrong path.
Even with eyes staring, still I do not see.
You set constraints; so no downfall occurred.

In the front a deep pit lurks.
A prison of pride had kept me enclaved,
It is covered by a dark screen.
Its merchandise... knowledge, wits, and acclaim.

Those wares You withdrew; my load You took away.
With my eyes,
You taught me Your [[Sadhana|sádhaná]].
I am unable to see it.
For, there is no end to obstacles.

The prison of ego,
and loads of
knowledge,
intellect,
name and fame
all bind me.

Removing these heaps,
and taking on you all my loads,
You taught me the practice of attaining you.
