O lord,
Thou, You don't forget me,
do not forget me even when i forget you!
But I go on forgetting Thee.
I do not fail to take Your gift;
I keep neglecting to give first.

I do not hesitate taking your gift,
On glitter of good cheer's light-beams,
yet, i forget giving.
Yourself I do not happen to see.
But on my nights of sorrow, bitterly I weep,
Having asked You to relieve the grief.

During flashes of light and happiness,
In happiness a web of logic I create;
I am unable to see you.
I say: No faith have I in future states.

To You, Providence, credence I don't pay;
I continue crying during nights of pain,
But when in pain, I pray: Come right away!
asking you to save me,
O remover of pain!

During happy days,
I create a web of reasoning,
saying i believe in neither another world nor in you.
O lord,
but during times of pain,
I pray to you to come.
