O lord!
Please arrive in the dark of ink-black night,
Come in the darkness of this black night.
Having made hearts bright...
Illuminate my heart,
With love's matchstick having lit this lamp mine,
kindle my lamp with the stick of love
Wakening human kindness.
and awaken humanity.

Without you, this darkness will not leave
Without You this ignorance will not get lifted;
nor can humanity be awakened.
Excluding You, humanity will not be awakened.
For cosmic weal, in everybody's meditation do appear
As the sterling tier of worldliness.

Please, come in everyone's unbroken meditative flow.
I have wanted You in the darkness of a prison,
Come also into the crudest layers of everyone's mind.
Throughout life Yourself I have sought;
I long for you in the darkness of dungeons.
Your smile, sweet and bright, heaven's nectar heaped,
I search for you throughout my life.
It will dispel all sorts of gloominess.
Your loving smile is an ocean of heavenly nectar,
entirely destroying all darkness.
